Once you’ve bought your e-cigarette, equipment and chosen your flavours, you might think that that’s all there is to it, right? Well, not necessarily. There are various methods by which you can significantly improve your vaping experience completely safely.
As we all know, vaping has become both a subculture and a hobby for many people. It’s also entirely subjective, so people will develop their own tips, tricks and techniques to improve the quality of their vape. This can take the form of preferences over flavours and also e-cigarette customisation and modification. Unfortunately, the latter can be hazardous and result in either the permanent damage of your e-cigarette, or even cause yourself some harm. We don’t recommend you tamper with your e-cigarette in any way.
There are some completely safe ways of improving the quality of your vape, however, that anyone can try. Recently we discussed how cleaning your e-cigarette carefully and regularly can improve the taste of your e-liquids, and we also covered ‘steeping’, the art of maturing your flavours for a better vaping experience.
Know Your Ohms from your Amps
Adjusting the ohms and amps can change the amount of vapour production and allow you to customise your vape, but there is the risk of your device burning out if you push the device too far – try not to exceed 2 amps or 8 watts.
Ohms provide ‘resistance’, the lower the ohms the more vapour, the better the throat hit, the better the flavour, and, of course, the quicker your battery will drain. Higher ohms will use less e-liquid and is much more efficient if you’re going to be away from your charger for a while, the vape will also be smoother and less vapour will be produced.
Use quality E-Cigarettes and liquids ONLY
It might sound obvious, but quality flavours taste the best. It might be tempting for some to go for a budget range, but for the e-liquid connoisseur it’s essential to find a quality brand or range that suits both your taste buds and your pocket. Simple E-Liquid retail a variety of rich, intense flavours, from candyfloss to cool mint and menthol. Our ‘Max Taste’ range ensures a complex and satisfying vape.
Mix up your flavours too, the same flavour can become bland and the taste much less intense when you vape it continuously. Have a break and try something different before going back to old faithful.
Explore different combinations of PG and VG
E-liquids are generally comprised of nicotine, water, flavourings, and either vegetable glycerin (VG) or propylene glycol (PG).
PG is known for having a great ‘throat hit’, something many e-cigarette smokers look for in particular. There are, however, a small number of people who will have an allergy, so make sure you’re not one of them before you try it!
VG is particularly sweet-tasting, with a smooth ‘throat hit’. VG is already used in food products and cosmetics and is considered completely safe.
Various e-liquid products have different combinations and ratios of PG and VG, and some are purely one or the other. Many consider 30% VG and 70% PG to be the ideal mix, with the most vapour being produced, and the flavour being particularly balanced and satisfying. It’s important to experiment with both and find out what your own preference is.
