SMOK RPM 2 AND 2S: INSTRUCTION MANUAL AND TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

The SMOK RPM 2 and RPM 2S are the latest tiny – but incredibly mighty – pod-based devices from SMOK. They bridge the gap between small beginner-oriented pod systems like the one you’re probably using now and the full-sized mods that expert vapers often use – and while both devices operate at up to 80 watts and offer incredible performance, they’re no larger than a typical vape pen. When you combine the amazing style and performance characteristics of the SMOK RPM 2 and 2S with the incredible power of the latest SMOK RPM coils, the fact that these devices have been so successful isn’t surprising at all.

If you’re here because you’ve recently ordered a new SMOK RPM 2 and want to know how to use the device, this instruction manual is going to give you a head start by explaining the essential aspects of vaping with the RPM 2 and resolving the problems that you might experience along the way. If you don’t own the SMOK RPM 2 yet, why are you still waiting? You can grab the SMOK RPM 2 or SMOK RPM 2S right here for just £34.99. We also have a wide range of e-liquid to browse through.

SMOK RPM 2 vs. 2S

If you don’t own the SMOK RPM 2 already, the top question on your mind is probably this: What are the differences between the SMOK RPM 2 and RPM 2S? The answer to that question is quite simple; the only difference between the two devices is that the SMOK RPM 2 has an internal 2,000 mAh battery, while the SMOK RPM 2S uses a removable 18650 battery. The battery isn’t included, so if you don’t have an 18650 battery already, you’ll need to buy one separately. You can simply buy the device that suits your battery preference because, aside from that – and the fact that the RPM 2S is slightly larger to accommodate the removable battery – the two versions of the SMOK RPM 2 are the same.

What Coils Work With the SMOK RPM 2 and 2S?

The SMOK RPM 2 and RPM 2S both work with SMOK RPM coils. In addition to working with the full range of coils from the RPM series, the designers at SMOK have also come up with a brand-new coil for the RPM 2. Choose from these coils:

  • SMOK RPM 2 Mesh Coil:16 ohm, suggested power 25-50 watts. Designed to produce enormous clouds with rich, vivid flavours.
  • SMOK RPM Mesh Coil: 40 ohm, suggested power 25 watts. Produces large, cool clouds with subtle, refined flavours.
  • SMOK RPM Quartz Coil:2 ohm, suggested power 12 watts. Provides stable, reliable heating for thick oils.
  • SMOK RPM SC Coil: 0 ohm, suggested power 14 watts. Designed for mouth-to-lung vaping with higher-nicotine e-liquids.
  • SMOK RPM RBA Coil: Rebuildable atomizer that allows you to build your own coils.
  • SMOK RPM MTL Mesh Coil:3 ohm, suggested power 10-15 watts. Produces huge clouds but has tight airflow characteristics for mouth-to-lung vaping.
  • SMOK RPM Triple Coil:6 ohm, suggested power 25 watts. Designed for those who prefer restricted direct-to-lung hits.
  • SMOK RPM DC Coil:8 ohm, suggested power 16 watts. Produces very warm, intense vapour for a stimulating mouth-to-lung vaping experience.
  • SMOK RPM 2 DC Coil:6 ohm, suggested power 12-25 watts. Designed for a cooler and more refined mouth-to-lung vaping experience.

How to Use the SMOK RPM 2

If you’ve just received your SMOK RPM 2 or RPM S2 and are anxious to start using it, you’re in the right place. Although nothing can truly replace a full printed instruction manual, this guide will do the next best thing by explaining the four most essential aspects of using this device. We’ll get you up and running quickly, and you can sit down to read the printed manual while you enjoy your new device.

How to Charge the SMOK RPM 2

The SMOK RPM 2 has a built-in battery, and you can charge it immediately after removing it from the box. If you have the SMOK RPM 2S, though, you’ll need to install an 18650 battery before charging the device. Remove the magnetic battery cap on the rear side of the device and insert the battery with the positive pole facing up. Replace the battery cap. Connect the device to your computer using the included USB-C cable. The device’s display indicates when the charging sequence is complete.

How to Fill the SMOK RPM 2 Pod

To fill the SMOK RPM 2 pod, you’ll first need to remove the pod from the device. When you remove the pod, you’ll see the large red cover for the filling port on the side of the pod. Lift the cover with your fingernail and inject e-liquid into the pod until the pod is nearly full. Push the cover back down and replace the pod.

Before using your SMOK RPM 2 for the first time – or when replacing the atomizer coil – SMOK recommends filling the pod and allowing it to rest for at least 15 minutes before vaping.

How to Replace the SMOK RPM 2 Coil

When you start to detect a burned flavour or notice that your SMOK RPM 2 or RPM 2S no longer produces as much vapour as it once did, it’s time to replace the atomizer coil. When your pod is empty, remove it from the SMOK RPM 2 and flip it upside down. You’ll see the cylindrical atomizer coil on the bottom of the pod. Grasp the coil by its base and wiggle gently until it comes free. Push a replacement pod firmly into the hole before refilling and replacing the pod.

How to Vape With the SMOK RPM 2

After you’ve charged the battery and filled the pod, it’s time to begin using your SMOK RPM 2. Start by pressing the fire button five times quickly to turn the device on. Before you begin vaping, remember the recommended wattage range for the installed atomizer coil and use the “-“ button to set the SMOK RPM 2 to the low end of that range. After you’ve broken the coil in, you can begin increasing the wattage gradually until you get the vapor volume and warmth you want. To vape, puff on the device while holding the fire button.

If you’d like to know approximately how many more puffs your SMOK RPM 2 will produce before it’s time to recharge the battery, press the fire and “+” buttons simultaneously.

How to Fix Problems With the SMOK RPM 2

Is your SMOK RPM 2 or RPM 2S not working properly? We have the help you need. In this section of our SMOK RPM 2 instruction manual, we’ll provide the steps that you should take to resolve the problems you’re most likely to experience with this device.

SMOK RPM 2 Not Charging

If your SMOK RPM 2 isn’t charging, you should first make sure that you’re using an approved charger. The SMOK RPM 2 requires a 5-volt charging current, and it’ll refuse to charge if you connect it to a power source delivering significantly over or under that voltage. A mobile phone or tablet charger generally won’t work to charge the SMOK RPM 2 or another vaping device; connect the device to your computer instead. If the RPM 2 still doesn’t charge, try using a different USB-C cable.

If you have the SMOK RPM 2S, there’s another troubleshooting step available to you in that if your device doesn’t charge, you can remove the battery and try charging it in an external 18650 battery charger. If the battery doesn’t charge in an external charger, you should replace the battery. If the battery does charge, you should troubleshoot a potential problem with the SMOK RPM 2S.

SMOK RPM 2 Not Vaping

If your SMOK RPM 2 doesn’t do anything when you press the fire button, you should first make sure that the battery is charged and that the device isn’t turned off. Press the fire button five times to turn the SMOK RPM 2 on. If the device turns on – and the battery is charged – then the problem has something to do with the electrical connection between the SMOK RPM 2 and the atomizer coil.

Begin by removing the pod from the SMOK RPM 2 and checking under it. Is the pod leaking? Remove the spilled e-liquid with a paper towel or cotton swab. Blow firmly through the top of the SMOK RPM 2 to clear out any e-liquid stuck in the device’s vents. Are you able to vape? If the SMOK RPM 2 still isn’t working, it’s possible that the atomizer coil has a manufacturing defect. Remove and replace the coil.

SMOK RPM 2 Gurgling or Leaking

If your SMOK RPM 2 gurgles or leaks, it’s a sign that e-liquid is trapped inside the pod’s centre chimney or airflow vents. The trapped e-liquid hampers the device’s vapour production and might even result in vape juice spitting into your mouth – not a pleasant experience. The most likely reason why your SMOK RPM 2 would begin gurgling or leaking is really quite simple – you’re puffing too hard when vaping. Always use light air pressure when puffing on the SMOK RPM 2. If you want the device to produce bigger vapour clouds, use a more powerful atomizer coil or increase the device’s wattage. If you don’t find your experience sufficiently satisfying, consider increasing the nicotine strength of your e-liquid.
