Learning how to charge a vape isn't particularly complicated, but it's worth doing properly. Almost every rechargeable vape uses a lithium-ion battery, and although these batteries are generally very reliable, using the wrong charging equipment or charging a damaged device can increase the risk of overheating or fire.
There's also no single charging setup that works for every vape. Today's vape kits range from tiny pod systems to larger devices with removable batteries, and their charging requirements can be quite different. Some support 2A USB-C fast charging, while others are designed for a lower charging current.
The golden rule is simple: follow the manufacturer's charging instructions for your particular device rather than assuming that any cable or plug that fits will be suitable.

This isn't because a vape should normally burst into flames if you forget about it. Properly manufactured devices have safety circuitry. The problem is that damaged batteries, defective chargers and other faults can occur, and you'll be in a much better position to react if you're awake and nearby.
Plug your vape in when you know you'll be around for a while. Once it's charged, unplug it.
Charge your vape somewhere where you can see it, on a hard and stable surface with plenty of airflow around the device.

Some vape kits support what's known as pass-through charging, which means the electronics allow the device to be used while it's connected to power. Others don't.
