VOOPOO PnP X Coil Guide

Why Choose VOOPOO PnP X Coils?

The PnP X platform is VOOPOO's newer replacement-coil system, designed to deliver excellent flavour, generous vapour production and a longer usable life. Its mesh heating technology provides a large contact area for vaporising e-liquid, while the compatible PnP X pods use a four-layer leak-resistant design to help reduce mess.

One of the best things about the PnP X system is its versatility. With four different resistances available here, you can fine-tune the experience to suit your preferences without replacing your entire vape kit. The same coil platform supports everything from powerful 80W DTL vaping to lower-powered MTL and RDL setups.

Replacement is straightforward, too. PnP X coils use a push-fit design, so there's no threading or complicated disassembly involved.

Which VOOPOO PnP X Coil Is Best?

The resistance you choose determines how much power your coil needs and influences the warmth, airflow and vapour production of your vape. Here's how the four available options compare.

0.15Ω | 60–80W

Best for Maximum Vapour

The 0.15-ohm PnP X coil is the most powerful option in this range. It's designed for DTL vaping with plenty of airflow, substantial vapour production and a noticeably warm inhale.

This is the coil to choose if you enjoy high-powered vaping and want to get the most out of a capable device such as the Drag X2 or Drag X3. Pair it with a high-VG e-liquid, ideally around 70% VG, and a lower nicotine strength.

0.2Ω | 40–60W

Best All-Round DTL Option

The 0.2-ohm coil delivers a satisfying DTL experience without requiring quite as much power as the 0.15-ohm version. Expect plenty of flavour and vapour, with slightly more moderate e-liquid and battery consumption.

It's a good choice for anyone who enjoys sub-ohm vaping but doesn't feel the need to run their device close to 80W. Use it with a high-VG vape juice and a suitable low nicotine strength.

0.3Ω | 32–40W

Best for Balanced Flavour and Vapour

The 0.3-ohm PnP X coil is a versatile middle-ground option for RDL and moderately powered DTL vaping. It produces a cooler, more restrained vape than the lower-resistance alternatives while still offering excellent flavour.

It's particularly appealing if you want a satisfying amount of vapour without using as much power. An e-liquid containing around 60–70% VG is a good starting point.

0.6Ω | 18–23W

Best for Lower-Powered Vaping

The 0.6-ohm coil is the most economical option in this selection in terms of power consumption and e-liquid usage. It provides a gentler, less vapour-heavy experience and can be used for MTL or restricted RDL vaping.

It's particularly well suited to 50/50 e-liquid and appropriate nicotine salt strengths. For a genuinely tight MTL draw, use it with a suitable PnP X MTL pod rather than relying on a wide-airflow DTL pod.

Our recommendation: Choose 0.15Ω for the biggest clouds, 0.2Ω for everyday DTL vaping, 0.3Ω for a balanced RDL experience or 0.6Ω for lower-powered vaping. Always make sure your device supports the coil's recommended wattage range.

Which Devices Use VOOPOO PnP X Coils?

Simply ELiquid stocks several vape kits designed for the PnP X platform. The following three devices are compatible with these replacement coils, although their different power capabilities make certain resistances better choices than others.

VOOPOO Drag X2

The Drag X2 is an 80W pod mod powered by a removable 18650 battery. It includes a PnP X pod and is an excellent match for the complete selection of coils offered here.

Best coil choices: 0.15Ω, 0.2Ω and 0.3Ω for DTL or RDL vaping. The 0.6Ω option is also supported for a lower-powered experience.

VOOPOO Drag X3

The Drag X3 is a newer 80W pod kit with touchscreen controls and compatibility with both 18650 and 21700 removable batteries. Its PnP X pod system makes changing coils simple.

Best coil choices: All four resistances. The 0.15Ω and 0.2Ω coils are particularly appealing if you want a powerful DTL setup.

VOOPOO Drag S3

The Drag S3 offers a more compact alternative with a built-in 3,000mAh battery and adjustable output up to 60W. It supports the PnP X system without requiring a separate battery.

Best coil choices: 0.2Ω, 0.3Ω and 0.6Ω. The 0.15Ω coil requires 60–80W, so the Drag S3 cannot use its full recommended power range.

Compatibility reminder: PnP X coils must be installed in compatible PnP X pods or tanks. VOOPOO's original PnP, TPP and other coil platforms use different fittings. Check the pod or tank model rather than assuming every VOOPOO device accepts PnP X coils.

What E-Liquid Works Best with PnP X Coils?

PnP X coils cover a wide range of wattages, so there isn't one e-liquid formulation that's ideal for every resistance.

For 0.15Ω and 0.2Ω Coils

These are high-powered DTL coils that work particularly well with 70% VG vape juice. The thicker liquid suits their larger wicking openings and helps deliver smooth, substantial vapour production.

Because these coils vaporise more liquid with every puff, lower nicotine strengths are generally the most comfortable choice.

For 0.3Ω and 0.6Ω Coils

The 0.3Ω coil is a good match for liquids containing around 60–70% VG, depending on your preferred wattage and airflow.

The lower-powered 0.6Ω coil is better suited to balanced 50/50 liquids. It's also the most appropriate option in this range for nic salts, especially when used with a suitable MTL pod and a nicotine strength matched to your vaping habits.

How to Replace and Prime VOOPOO PnP X Coils

Installing a new PnP X coil only takes a moment, but allowing it to absorb the e-liquid properly before vaping is important. A dry wick can burn almost immediately, ruining a brand-new coil.

  1. Remove the pod or tank. Take the PnP X cartridge out of your device and turn it over to access the coil.
  2. Remove the old coil. Pull the used coil straight out of the opening.
  3. Insert your replacement. Align the new PnP X coil with the opening and push it firmly into place. Check that it's seated correctly without a gap at the base.
  4. Fill with e-liquid. Use the filling port on your compatible pod and securely close the stopper.
  5. Let the wick saturate. Leave the pod standing for at least five minutes before vaping.
  6. Check your wattage. If your device allows manual adjustment, begin near the lower end of the recommended wattage range and increase gradually until you're happy with the result.
Tip: If your vape has a Smart Mode that automatically selects a wattage, it's still worth checking the displayed power against the recommended range printed on your replacement coil.

How Long Do VOOPOO PnP X Coils Last?

VOOPOO developed the PnP X platform with an emphasis on coil longevity, but the actual replacement interval will depend on your e-liquid, wattage and daily usage.

Very sweet e-liquids can leave deposits on the heating element more quickly, while running a coil too hot or allowing the pod to run dry can damage the wick prematurely.

You'll usually know when it's time for a fresh coil. The flavour may become dull or slightly burnt, or you might notice that your vape produces less vapour than it did when the coil was new. Once that happens, replacing the coil is usually much more effective than attempting to clean it.

To get the best life from each coil, keep the pod filled, stay within the recommended wattage range and avoid taking repeated long puffs without giving the wick time to absorb more liquid.

VOOPOO PnP X Coil FAQs

Are PnP and PnP X coils the same?

No. PnP X is a newer coil platform with different physical fittings. Original VOOPOO PnP coils, including PnP VM and TW versions, are not interchangeable with PnP X coils. Your pod or tank must specifically support the PnP X platform.

Do PnP X coils fit the VOOPOO Drag X2?

Yes. The Drag X2 uses a PnP X cartridge and supports the four resistance options available on this page. Its adjustable 5–80W output makes it particularly versatile.

Which PnP X coil is best for the Drag X3?

The Drag X3 supports all four options. Choose 0.15Ω for high-powered DTL vaping, 0.2Ω for a slightly more moderate DTL experience or 0.3Ω for a balance of flavour and vapour at lower wattages. The 0.6Ω coil is also suitable for lower-powered use.

Can I use these coils with the Drag S3?

Yes. The Drag S3 supports PnP X coils and has a maximum output of 60W. We recommend the 0.2Ω, 0.3Ω or 0.6Ω options. The 0.15Ω coil has a recommended range of 60–80W, making it a less suitable match for the Drag S3.

Can I use nicotine salts with PnP X coils?

Yes, although the resistance makes a difference. The 0.6Ω coil is the best option in this range for 50/50 nic salts and a lower-powered vape. Higher-powered 0.15Ω and 0.2Ω coils produce much more vapour per puff and are generally better suited to lower-strength freebase e-liquids.

How many PnP X coils are in a pack?

Each pack contains five genuine VOOPOO PnP X replacement coils in your chosen resistance. Select the correct ohm rating before adding the pack to your basket.
