Naval Medical Officers Declare Vaping Is Not A Risk

Recently a fugitive whistleblower claimed unauthorised vaping was a safety risk on board Royal Navy nuclear submarines, leading the naval medical officers having to perform a full health and safety investigation to determine whether or not this is the case. This has led to some unexpected positive press for the e cigarette community, as the naval medical officers have now declared vaping is not a risk and sailors are free to vape on board.

According to a recent article in the Daily Mail, Royal Navy medical officers feel there is no risk with e cigarettes and furthermore, they could help people quit normal cigarettes.

The investigations related to health risks and safety risks related to e cigarette use. Health risks potentially being vapour containing toxins that may negatively affect others, and whether or not the e cigarette itself posed a fire risk.

The fugitive who raised concerns about e cigarettes went on the run after releasing a self written document listing alleged safety issues on Royal Navy nuclear submarines. As well as suggesting e cigarettes posed a safety risk, the documents also discussed various other alleged issues such as top secret documents being open to viewing or theft.

The fugitive handed himself in since the documents were released and is now back on duty. E cigarettes have been given the complete all-clear by the Royal Navy and continue to be used on the nuclear submarines.
